We have serious needs within our community. With support from the CNY Community Foundation, FOCUS Greater Syracuse, Inc. and PEACE, Inc. facilitated a free half-day summit (8 AM – noon) on Friday, November 22nd. Participants learned about successful multigenerational approaches for building our community’s capacity to meet basic needs. This event was held at the Collegian Hotel and Suites.
The keynote speaker was Jennifer Gregory, Director of Mobility Learning Design & Practice at the National Community Action Partnership. Additionally, a panel of local experts offered reflection and inspiration. Time was designated for a solutions-based discussion from those in attendance.
This summit focused on building our community’s capacity to meet basic needs through Family-Centric Services. Social/human service organizational leadership, community leaders, and frontline workers especially, were invited. We will also develop and publish recommendations based on the discussion to ensure the basic needs for all Central New York households.
