FOCUS Greater Syracuse and Leadership Greater Syracuse partnered with Onondaga County Executive J. Ryan McMahon, II and City of Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh for a successful June FOCUS Forum. The County Executive and Mayor both shared their visions to make Syracuse and Onondaga County a better place to live for all.
Our County Executive and Mayor have aimed their priorities towards improving our community as restrictions are lifted and funds are made more widely available. In this Forum, the speakers were each given 10 minutes to discuss these priorities and plans; the remainder of the Forum was opened up to a diverse range of questions from the audience which were sent in ahead of time.
The audience – one of the largest for FOCUS – was filled with enthusiastic and engaged citizens. Topics included updates on I-81, issues of safety and gun violence, infrastructure and sustainability initiatives, and plans for the White Pines project. The Forum concluded with a powerful question directed towards the speakers on how the ordinary citizens of our community can contribute to achieve their vision to make Syracuse and Onondaga County a better place to live for all a possibility.
