City Housing / Looking Forward
On February 25, 2022 FOCUS held a free, virtual forum to discuss new initiatives and policies impacting the future of downtown and neighborhood housing. The forum looked at future plans for city housing structures, design, and organization.
We are looking ahead to better understand the needs and goals for future housing initiatives to better address our residential community, its past, and its growth into the future.
Examples of what was discussed include: ReZone Syracuse (City ReZone Code), yet to be adopted, and the County Plan ON (Plan ONondaga) study currently underway.
FOCUS plans on hosting more forums surrounding housing throughout 2022 – the topic is vast and complex, and requires more than one forum, so stay tuned!
Panelists: Daniel Kwasnowski, Director, Syracuse Onondaga Planning Agency (SOCPA); Owen Kerney, Deputy Director, SOCPA; Stephanie Pasquale, Director, Neighborhood Advancement with the Allyn Family Foundation.
