In June, FOCUS Greater Syracuse, Inc. hosted Centro and the Syracuse Metropolitan Transportation Council (SMTC) for a free, virtual Forum on June 16, 2023 at 12:05 p.m. on the future of Syracuse’s public transportation.
Centro and the SMTC kicked-off the Exploring Tomorrow’s Transit public engagement effort with a survey in January 2023. The survey remained open through May 19, 2023, while the SMTC and Centro also conducted three public “open houses” and numerous community tabling events. This FOCUS forum reported the early findings of the survey and provided information about the on-going Exploring Tomorrow’s Transit initiative.
Exploring Tomorrow’s Transit (ETT) is a public engagement effort by Centro and the SMTC to better understand our community’s diverse needs and expectations around public transit. ETT explores future designs of the Centro system in Onondaga County, including options such as on-demand services, bus rapid transit, as well as changes in geographic coverage and frequency.
