VISIT SYRACUSE’S NEW DIRECTION
Central New York’s tourism agency launched an extended national search for a new director and found him right here at home. Dan Liedka has been a global account executive for Marriott International, color commentator for cable sports, and a county legislator and has a fresh take on his home town.

Dan Liedka is the new President and Chief Executive Director of Visit Syracuse, the regional tourism agency for Central New York.
He had represented the Onondaga County’s 7th Legislative District, which includes the portions of the Town of DeWitt and the City of Syracuse.
He is the former Mayor of the Village of East Syracuse. He was first elected to that post in 2007, after serving two terms as a Village Trustee.
In the corporate world, he serves as a Global Account Executive for Marriott International. He is also an on-air color commentator for the Time Warner Cable Sports Channel, specializing in football and basketball. He is a member of the Syracuse Sports Corporation and the NCAA Basketball Regionals Local Organizing Committee. He is also a member of the American Legion Arthur Butler Post 359.
Liedka is a native of East Syracuse. He lives on McCool Avenue in the Village with his wife Kim, their young sons, Luke and Jack, and their German Shepherd, Bruin
